Herb Garden, Kláštor pod Znievom

The Turčianska village of Kláštor pod Znievom has been the cradle of herbalism, oil and saffron cultivation since the 16th century. The tradition was resurrected a few years ago in the form of a communal herb garden and the renovation of a local house. The plants are dried in the Herbalist’s House, and locals have the opportunity to resell the herbs. The House of Herbalists together with the herb garden is located on the premises of the first Slovak gymnasium. An outline of the human body is created in the herb garden on the ground, where herbs are planted in the different sections of the body to help that part.
