Rafting down the Turiec or Váh Rivers on packrafts

There are many nice rivers and streams in Slovakia. Among the most beautiful and less known is certainly the Turiec River. Nevertheless, you will find only sketchy information about rafting on the Turiec. The Turiec is a river that requires a paddler with experience. However, these can be replaced by expeditionary enthusiasm. The experienced paddler may be discouraged by the occasional tree portaging and dragging of the boat through willow bushes and nettles. An enthusiastic member of the expedition may be disappointed that instead of taking pictures of natural corners, chirping birds and views, he has to keep his paddle at the ready. The Turiec meanders through the beautiful meadows of the Turčianska Basin, flowing quite briskly, so the journey passes quickly.

Packraft inflatable kayaks are ideal for rafting. A large raft for a multi-person crew is completely unsuitable due to the narrow riverbed. Navigability is ideal if the water level in Martin is around 100 cm. The activity is suitable for children aged 15 and over.
