The Museum of Roma Culture in Slovakia

The museum is a specialized component of the Slovak National Museum in Martin. This workplace with a nationwide scope began to take shape at the SNM – Ethnographic Museum in Martin as the Documentation Center of Roma Culture in Slovakia in 2002. After the transformation in 2004, it is a documentation and scientific research museum workplace, which within the museum’s profiling emphasizes on acquisition, methodological and professional and cultural-educational activities. It presents Roma culture and educates about its specifics. At present it is located on the grounds of the Slovak National Museum – Museum of the Slovak Village in Jahodníčky háje.
